A not to pop art
When it comes to making a statement, some people simply don’t hold back. The multi-coloured long sleeveless dress worn by Princess Deena Abdulaziz wasn’t only a show stopper but also a very loud not to pop art. Complete with a micro-bag, open-toed heels and an unapologetic pixie, this dress seemed to be leading a life of its own. It left bystanders not only in awe but also in the shade as there is very little that can pull focus from this pop of colour.
Homage to Americana
Next in line of the most noticed people were definitely Dakota Johnson and Ciara, who in slightly different manners, both paid tribute to the beloved and warm Americana. Johnson did it through a causal, festival-goer looking outfit comprised of a long floral pink dress paired up with an interesting faded denim jacket that was not short of embellishments, while Ciara took the bohemian vibe up a notch by going with her signature ombre blond stands surrounding her face while posing in a full-bohemian getup complete with an ankle-length faded denim jacket.
The ’90s vibe
The streets of Milan certainly did ooze a plethora of the nineties inspired outfits. There was first the bad girl look flaunted by Sora Choi who was spotted in a dark red velvet spaghetti-strap mini dress and a leather biker jacket. Of course, the nineties-inspired denim skirt rocked by Ada Kokosar simply could not go unnoticed, as well as several looks featuring a returning star – the military jacket. Whether it was paired with faded or black jeans, floral or black tops, it felt incredibly familiar, like people wearing it jumped out of a time capsule. The nineties seemed to represent a well of inspiration for this year’s #streetstyle goals, and it’s only reasonable to assume that this decade will remain a beacon of #inspo in the upcoming season as well.
Women in black
Every trend can become a bit tired every now and then, and so it makes an exit, to rest, regroup and come back. One of the only garments that never seem to go out of style is the mighty black dress. It was rocked by Gigi, Ellie Bamber, as well as the model trio that looks like a fierce girl band. All black everything is definitely a statement maker, and if you want to channel this supermodel vibe, the Delphian cocktail dress by Maticevski is an incredibly chic choice. More than one-third of the fashionistas captured on film were dressed in black, so it’s safe to say that black will forever be black.
