NOTW: Nail Of The Week

Quote Of The Day: "You can't buy happiness, but you can buy nail varnish and that's kinda the same thing" 

This weeks NOTW (nail of the week) is one by the brand Maybelline and it's in the colour called "Knitted Gold". It's a gorgeous gold glittery colour, and is the perfect summery glittery colour, or at least I think it is anyway. As with most glitter nail varnishes, this has a mixture of both fine and chunky glitter, I always make sure to apply a base coat before applying any type of glitter to my nails as it just helps to protect your nails a little bit.

Pro's 

- It looked gorgeous when the sun hit it and all the glitter started reflecting.
- Only needed 2 coats to get the full effect of the glitter.
- It applied really nice, without all clumping all the glitter together.

Con's

- This particular glitter nail varnish was an absolute nightmare to remove, it seemed to take forever and that was with a pure acetone based remover.
- I also didn't like the fact that even with a top coat over it, it started to chip after a few days, which then made me want to remove it completely, as I'm not a fan of having chipped nails.

This particular Maybelline nail varnish I actually purchased for just £1 in the poundshop, I always check what nail varnishes they have in there as you can actually find some really good bargains.

The topcoat I used was just my usual one from Ciate there speed coat top coat one as I find these drys so quick, which is a good thing as I'm so impatient when waiting for my nails to dry haha.

This picture really doesn't do the nail varnish any justice at all, usually I can get the nail varnish to really focus but with this one it just wasn't happening for some reason.

Would I wear this nail varnish again? Probably not on my natural nails no, but as an overlay on Acrylic Nails then I probably would yeah.
