Battle Of The Three Primers

figs & rouge, essence, loreal, primers, makeup, base product, skincare

Over the past few weeks, I have been testing out a couple of primers to see what works best for me and how my skin also reacted to them, as I have really sensitive skin so I always struggle to find the perfect products for me. I gave my skin a weeks test on each primer, two of the primers are what I received in previous Glossybox's and the other one is what I personally purchased myself.

So which primers were on my testing shelf?
Figs & Rouge - Soft Focus Pore Perfect
Essence - Gym Proof Primer
Loreal - Skin Perfection

Loreal was the first primer I tried and was also the one that I purchased myself, I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it, but what I do know is that I was disappointed in how small the tube size was. This primer did absolutely nothing for my skin at all...apart from making it break out all over the place, it comes out of the tube in a cream like formula but as your applying it to your skin it feels kind of powdery (if that's even a word haha). I really wanted to like this one seeing as it's by a well-known brand, but it did nothing for me so I don't think I will be repurchasing this again anytime soon.

Figs & Rouge was the second primer that I tested out for a week, this one was a bit better than the Loreal primer but only by a little bit, this one says it's an HD and Matte Veil primer which diminishes shine and delivers a soft focus effect. This one didn't affect my skin as much as I thought it would, it didn't make me break out but after about an hour my skin did feel a bit oily and made me feel like I needed to wash my face every couple of hours. I will probably use this one every now and then, maybe if I'm having a day where I haven't got much planned and know I won't be out for hours on end.

Finally, the last primer I tested out was by the brand Essence, this one also came in a Glossybox of mine. This claims to be 'sweatproof' 'instant blur effect' and also be 'SPF 20', and I can confirm that for me it was all of the above! It just goes to show that you don't need expensive products all the time for them to be the best, this hasn't affected my skin at all and also doesn't make my skin feel oily either, which for me is a really good product. I would definitely go and purchase this once I have used this tube up, as it's the one for me.
