Xmas and Valentine's Day are not the only season of gifts, as there are many other days in a year when you could surprise the cherished people in your life with a small, but meaningful present. If your friend is into accessories as well, you can always go with that. Getting accessories for someone can be rather difficult, especially if you're not really sure what that person has in their wardrobe or if they will be able to match them at all. That way, you'll know they'll love it (all fashion people love minimalism), and be able to combine it with their outfit for the day.
